Star light star bright

The first star of the night

Arcturus shines as the waning light

Plucks the starlight into sight

The nose of the bear stretches across the sky

The first night’s stars to meet the eye

Turns waiting Eastward to try

To get the first look at the moon

Whose fullness will be rising soon

Oh no you don’t! You ain’t no Urania. And what did I tell you about rhymes? You’re messin’ with me for sure. Now, if I wanted people to think I had a bit of Urania in me, I would sigh at the vast loneliness, the spaces lost in other spaces, erotic attractions to unseen and unseeable black holes, lonely wanderer visiting the solar system just this one time, and then heading out to forever. I know you better than that…and I don’t know you at all!

I didn’t have much time I had to read a Shakespeare play for class. That aside, the weather in the evening has proven poor for long term star gazing.

Of course, I realize you have a real life. But Urania isn’t deterred by clouds, you know, since she is somehow part of the space she is the goddess of understanding. Actually, it…. wouldn’t it be more fun to pretend you are trolling me? Just piss me off with silly poems you know I’ll hate. Also, this poem got 5 likes, maybe you’re on to something.

Now, why Urania is important to me. In the Magic Modernization Project I plan to discard “traditional” astrology and replace it with a kind of “New Cosmology” or something. If you are knowledgeable, that would be a real turn-on for me.

And this got 2 likes? Well, I give you 2 loves but no likes for this. I am smiling at the sly mediocrity of it all. Shall I love you for blandness, marijuana-induced stupefaction? This is a child’s verse, and I am no child molester.

Furthermore, where’s the Greeks? It would be so easy for you to google a few astronomy-related Greek characters, ponder on their attributes, realms, and relationships, and throw something together that looked like it was profound and full of meaning.

Also, I wrote a wonderful comment under “People who get me.” I re-read it and started to cry myself!

However, this poem got 5 Likes. Maybe you are on to something here. For comparison, my 59 posts, over two years, TOGETHER only got around 10 likes, and some of those were from robot commercial sites.
