So I sang to a buck the songs of some people

And he listened quietly from his perch higher

Antlers spread to the sky bone from his skull that grew

You’ll find I’m well acquainted with my neighbours

And I love them

Yes,

All of them

I don’t believe any heart is evil

I believe the greed the doctrine requires turns them black in the oil they crave

But I will sing with the birds and sing to a deer

It was interesting

To have an audience

I’m afraid to sing in front of humans

But the deer doesn’t judge

Just thinks

That’s a different sound than I usually hear from the two legged monsters

And listens

He seemed happy

His eyes became lidded in a deer smile

I got the nod

Deer nod when they accept you aren’t going to hurt them

But they don’t come close

Cautious creatures and rightly so

But we shared a fun moment

Just standing in the pouring rain

And singing
